Research

My research is about the formation, growth and stabilization of ZnO nanoparticles. These NPs can be integrated into electronic devices and thin film solar cells. However, the formation and stabilization mechanisms are still unclear. To address this problem in situ we perform small angle X-ray and neutron scattering (SAXS and SANS) studies and UV/Vis absorption measurements. By UV/Vis and SAXS the formation and growth of the ZnO core can be followed, while the combination of SAXS and SANS is suited to detect organic moieties surrounding the ZnO NPs.
